The love story of young Raymonda and Chevalier Jean de Brienne choreographed by Rudolf Nureyev
The Opéra Bastille closes the season with Rudolf Nureyev's classic three-act ballet "Raymonda". In 1983, the choreographer created the definitive version of this ballet, first performed in St. Petersburg in 1898, to a score by Alexander Glazunov. This medieval fable of love between East and West depicts the love story of young Raymonda and the knight Jean de Brienne, as they battle against the lusts of Saracen chieftain Abderam. On view from 15 June to 14 July 2027.
