Discover choreographer Frederick Ashton's version of this famous pantomime ballet at the Palais Garnier
The Palais Garnier presents "La Fille mal gardée", from 7 to 22 May 2027. Created in 1789 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux by Jean Dauberval, this ballet-pantomime offers a joyous look at the world of peasants, inspiring English choreographer Frederick Ashton in 1960 to create a version full of humor and freshness that has become a benchmark. As Lise and Colas fall in love, Simone, the young woman's mother, imagines a completely different destiny for her daughter and organizes her marriage to Alain, a foolish but wealthy man.
7:30pm on 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 18, 19, 20 and 22 May.
