An immersive virtual reality experience recreates the creation of the Statue of Liberty at the Musée d'Orsay
From 15 September to 31 January 2027, the Musée d’Orsay will present, alongside the exhibition “Auguste Bartholdi: Liberty Enlightening the World,” the immersive experience “A Statue for Liberty, Bartholdi’s dream, from Paris to New York.” This original production reveals to the public the creation of the Statue of Liberty, a masterpiece by the French sculptor Auguste Bartholdi, gifted by France to the United States on the occasion of the centennial of American independence in 1876. Visitors, equipped with virtual reality headsets, discover how this monumental project came to be, through prestigious collaborations with Gustave Eiffel and the Gaget, Gauthier & Cie workshop - faithfully recreated - where nearly 600 workers and artisans labored to bring it to life. Virtual exhibition available in French and English.
From 9.30am to 6pm. From 9.30am to 9.45pm on Thursday. Closed on Monday.
