The French capital is home to two sites dedicated to Compagnonnage: the Compagnonnage museum and bookshop and the Aux Arts et Sciences réunis restaurant. The first is located in the heart of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, on the Left Bank of Paris, and traces the history of Compagnonnage. It is located in the former headquarters of the Compagnons Charpentiers du Devoir de Liberté. The visit is accompanied by a companion-guide who presents the history of his trade, the tools and the masterpieces on display. The bookshop offers various books on the Compagnonnage and its trades. The Compagnons Charpentiers restaurant (Aux Arts et Sciences réunis) is located in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, a stone's throw from La Villette. The decoration of the dining rooms evokes the carpenter's trade and the great hours of the Compagnonnage. Behind the restaurant is a room (visible by appointment) housing monumental 19th century masterpieces.
