MUSEUM

Musée Fournaise

Île des Impressionnistes - 78400 Chatou 78 - Yvelines
The Fournaise museum occupies the former Fournaise tavern, a meeting place for artists in the 19th century. It is here that Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted "Le Déjeuner de canotiers" in 1880. The museum currently offers "Renoir Impressionist, the immersive experience", a digital show-tour (holograms, videos, projections) to meet the famous painter. Visitors can even walk among the characters of the "Boating Lunch" thanks to touch pads, create their own painting after Renoir, or even explore the surroundings of the tavern in the 19th century in virtual reality.
