MUSEUM

Musée des impressionnismes - Giverny

99 rue Claude Monet - 27620 Giverny Giverny
The Musée des impressionnismes is a major centre for Impressionism in Normandy, just a stone's throw from Claude Monet's house and gardens. Each year, it presents two or three innovative exhibitions on Impressionism and its aftermath, by theme or artist, drawing on its collection of nearly 300 works (Bonnard, Signac, Boudin, Caillebotte, not forgetting the delicate, poetic works by Hiramatsu paying tribute to Monet). The presentation is always exciting and lively, thanks to the many events that accompany its programme (lectures, readings, concerts, adult and children's workshops, Impressionist walks, themed tours, etc.). Outside, the museum also boasts a beautiful garden with contemporary art and a meadow of poppies or millstones, depending on the season, which has been awarded the Jardin remarquable and LPO labels.
