COVID19: the Estate reopened on June 6, 2020. The Castle housing the Archeology Museum reopened on June 24, 2020.
Housed in a royal castle and in the Saint-Louis chapel dating back to the 13th century, the museum presents archaeological collections illustrating the life of man over one million years. A leading museum of archaeology with the richest prehistorical art collection in the world, it traces man's know-how, beliefs and works from their origins to the first half of the Middle Ages. Thousands of objects are displayed from the most revered works of art to the most humble objects of everyday life.
