Monument to those who died for France in overseas operations

Located in the heart of the Parc André-Citroën, the Monument aux Morts pour la France en opérations extérieures (OPEX) pays tribute to the soldiers who have fallen since 1963 on missions outside France. Inaugurated on November 11, 2019 by the President of the Republic in the presence of families, it symbolizes the Nation's recognition, the value of commitment, remembrance and contemplation. The central work represents six servicemen - five men and one woman - carrying an invisible coffin. Their faces convey gravity, pain and determination. Around them, a circular wall engraved with the names of over 600 fallen soldiers frames the site. Open to all, this national memorial is accessible free of charge all year round.

Open every day. Opening times vary according to season. From late October to late February, 8am-5.45pm. March: 8am-7pm. April and September, 8am-8.30pm. May to August, 8am-9.30pm
