Maison de Victor Hugo

The museum brings together the two places where Victor Hugo lived the longest—in Paris and on Guernsey. The apartment on the Place des Vosges, where Victor Hugo lived from 1832 to 1848, brings his life to life through the furnishings he lived among and works that illustrate his writings. The museum features temporary exhibitions highlighting its rich collections and Victor Hugo’s talent as a visionary illustrator.
Major renovations have made it possible to create a garden and a café.

The permanent collections of the City of Paris museums are open to the public free of charge. Temporary exhibitions are free for visitors under 18.

There is an admission fee for temporary exhibitions.

The Paris Musées card provides unlimited, skip-the-line access to all temporary exhibitions at the City of Paris’s museums for one year.
