Le 38Riv is a club nestled in a 13th-century vaulted cellar in the heart of Paris's Marais district. An atypical venue, it's no less in keeping with the tradition of jazz clubs: close proximity, intimate atmosphere, unobstructed view of the stage, stone vaults and warm acoustics.
The 38Riv's programming is predominantly jazz, open to hybrid forms. A veritable artistic crossroads, the club actively supports the French scene, while regularly welcoming international artists, and gives pride of place to emerging artists.
Founded in 2008 by Vincent Charbonnier, a former double bassist with an international career (notably with Jacques Loussier's Play Bach Trio), 38Riv was born after a stroke interrupted his career as a musician. For him, the club has become a way of rediscovering, every evening, the artistic emotions conveyed by the magic of live music.
Based on this founding vision, 38Riv is now run by a team of 10 professionals. Inheriting a deeply human adventure, they strive to make the club ever more convivial and lively, so that each event remains a unique experience for the public!
At 38Riv, the bar is hidden away at the back of the room... if you dare to go there! More than just a service, it's a place to meet and socialize before, during and after concerts. You'll discover a careful selection of wines, beers, cocktails and spirits, designed to accompany the evening and prolong the pleasure of the music.
