On October 17, 2026, Le Large - cultures contemporaines will open its doors on the upstream tip of the Île Seguin. Housed in a spectacular building designed by RCR Arquitectes (Pritzker Prize 2017), the new art center unveils its inaugural exhibition, "Moteur Imaginaire". Orchestrated by renowned international curator Cecilia Alemani, the exhibition explores the site's industrial history, questioning the complex links between man and machine. In partnership with the Fonds Renault pour l'Art et la Culture, it brings together historic masterpieces (Vasarely, Dubuffet, Tinguely, Doisneau) - some of which have been unseen for 40 years - with 17 previously unseen commissions from major contemporary figures such as Théo Mercier, Sara Sadik and Bertrand Lavier.

  • Dates: October 17, 2026 - March 7, 2027
  • Opening hours: Wednesday to Sunday (11am-7pm), Friday evening until 9pm
  • Prices: €15 / Reduced €10 (Free for under-26s)
The brainchild of Groupe Emerige, Large - cultures contemporaines is a 5,000 m² hybrid contemporary art center built on the Pointe des Arts on Île Seguin. Designed by Catalan architects RCR Arquitectes (Pritzker Prize 2017), the building plays on spectacular volumes bathed in subdued light. Committed and eco-designed, the venue supports the French scene while offering real living spaces: a panoramic coffee shop, a bookshop and free workshops for children. For its opening in autumn 2026, the inaugural "Moteur Imaginaire" exhibition, orchestrated by Cecilia Alemani with the Renault Fund, brings together historic masterpieces and 17 original contemporary creations. A cultural beacon open to all.

The art center is part of the Pointe des Arts project, which completes the cultural vocation of the Île Seguin, alongside the Seine Musicale and a Pathé cinema. Directly connected to the Parc Départemental Gauthier Mougin, the site invites visitors to stroll through a trail of some thirty open-air sculptures, all in an area reserved exclusively for soft mobility. Le Large is fully integrated into the Vallée de la Culture des Hauts-de-Seine network, creating continuity with the Pointe des Arts - Île Seguin, Jean Dubuffet's Tour aux Figures (on Île Saint-Germain) and the Musée-jardin Albert Kahn.
