This small artificial island, ten or so metres wide and almost one kilometre in length is situated between the two bridges Bir-Hakeim and Grenelle. Created in 1825, it has an unusual and pleasant promenade lined with trees. It also offers a superb view of the Eiffel Tower. Sports enthusiasts can take advantage of an open-air public workout space (apparatus, climbing walls, exercise bikes, etc.). The Ile aux Cygnes (Island of Swans) is famous for its 16-metre-high replica of the Statue of Liberty on the southern tip of the island.
