Listed as a historical monument, the Hôtel de Beauvais today houses the Cour Administrative d’Appel de Paris. Just like many private residences, it is situated in the historical Marais district. Built between 1656 and 1660, the Hôtel de Beauvais is a 17th century architectural masterpiece. From the road, the beautiful grand facade and its imposing balcony catch the eye. The highlight of the visit is the interior courtyard with its concave facades and its refreshing entrance hall with 8 Doric columns. Great historical figures have marked this place with their presence, including Louis XIV and Mozart. An administrative building, the Hôtel de Beauvais can be visited on European Heritage Days. However, it is possible to have a quick look at the courtyard on weekdays if you ask the porter nicely.
