From February 14 to July 18, 2026, the Frac Île-de-France presents the exhibition "Le Syndrome de Bonnard" at its Réserves site in Romainville. The exhibition is inspired by the painter Pierre Bonnard, who could not resist retouching his paintings after they had been hung in a museum. Through this historical figure, the exhibition explores the idea of a work of art in continuous metamorphosis. In the industrial setting of the Réserves, creations by contemporary artists (Michel Blazy, Nina Childress, Ryan Gander...) question the fragility and life of collections beyond their creation. This artistic proposal unfolds simultaneously at Les Réserves (Romainville) and Le Plateau (Paris 19th arrondissement), offering two complementary ways of looking at the impermanence of art.

Designed by the Freaks architectural firm, it is part of the new contemporary art cluster in eastern Paris, which also includes the Fiminco Foundation, several galleries* grouped together under the "Komunuma" label, the Jeune Création association, art artisans and the Parsons Paris school of fashion and design. The Frac Île-de-France now has new exhibition space in a location that will enable it to improve the conservation and management of its collection, and to roll out a new cultural and artistic project in conjunction with all the players and audiences in the Ile-de-France region, by launching an unprecedented participatory program entitled Sors de ta réserve! The public will be able to choose which works from the collection will be presented in dedicated areas of the Réserves.
