Forum des images

The Forum des images, founded in 1988 under the name of Vidéothèque de Paris, is a cultural institution of the City of Paris devoted to cinema and all forms of images (virtual reality, video games, comics...). It is located in the Forum des Halles, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. It has the status of a non-profit association and is currently directed by Claude Farge.
The Forum des images is a place for cinema enthusiasts, but also for creation, distribution, innovation and education in the visual arts. It organizes or hosts numerous theme-related film programmes, festivals, meetings and debates throughout the year for audiences of all ages.Its archives include nearly 7,700 films with Paris as their subject or setting, as well as several hundred other documents from various rare and difficult-to-access collections.
In September 2018, the Forum des images created TUMO Paris, its free digital creation school for teenagers aged 12 to 18.

Opening times and prices

Free for film classes, round tables, conferences and debates.
Some screenings are free.

Free access on the viewing stations in the Forum and François Truffaut Library;
Sessions:
7€ full price, 5.50 € reduced price (under 25 years old, students, job seekers, over 60 years old, people with reduced mobility) ;
4.50€ for children under 12 and UGC Unlimited cards;
4€ preferential rate with the Forum Liberté card (and for those accompanying the Forum Illimité card).

Closed on Mondays. Opening hours may change during festival periods.

Lift in the Jardin des Halles, at the intersection of Allée André Breton and Allée Frederico Garcia-Lorca, floor -3, exit Place Carrée.

- Entrance on the same level or with a sloping surface.
- Adapted communal bathroom equipped with a transfer bar and a washbasin with a recessed lower part.
- WC with side space and transfer bar.
- 1 dining room with aisles > 1.40m and adapted tables (70 cm height under table and legs not blocking the approach of a person in a wheelchair).

- No obstacles at face level in the corridors (TVs, wall lights, roof overhangs, etc.).
- Stairs with tactile and visual contrast before the first step down, continuous handrail, and contrasting stair nosing.
Lift with adapted control panel (raised keys and/or Braille) and sound system with announced floor.
- Information in large print, displayed at a reasonable height (menus, instructions, etc.).
