Located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this venue is iconic of the cultural buzz on the 'Left Bank' of Paris. The Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier was founded in 1913 by Jacques Copeau, a huge innovator in 20th century directing. Restored by the architect Bernard Kohn, the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier (300 seats) became the second auditorium of the Comédie-Française on 9 April 1993. The company puts on productions all season long, which alternate between a repertoire of classic and contemporary work.
