MUSEUM

Cité de la musique - Philharmonie de Paris

221 avenue Jean Jaurès - 75019 Paris La Villette
A place entirely dedicated to music, La Cité de la musique - Philharmonie de Paris gives access to musical culture to the greatest number of people through concerts, a museum, as well as educational and editorial activities for adults and young people.
Activities take place within an architectural complex, built in the south of the Parc de la Villette: Christian Portzomparc designed the Cité de la musique (1995), and Jean Nouvel the Philharmonie (2015).

With a rich collection of more than 7,000 instruments and works of art, the Musée de la musique and its permanent exhibition space provide an insight into the history of Western music from the 16th century to the present day and a glimpse of the main musical cultures around the world.
This museum nurtures the Philharmonic's heritage ambition and offers many activities for all publics: concerts, visits, performances, workshops and large-scale exhibitions. With the recent donation of Pierre Henry's composition material, the Museum has opened a new permanent space.
