People visit the Château de Compiègne, former royal residence, for its historic apartments (18th century, First and Second Empire), its Second Empire museum and its car museum.

Free entry on the first Sunday of the month. Free for under 26s from within the European Union and primary and secondary school teachers (outside of temporary exhibitions). Free for disabled visitors and an accompanying person and jobseekers. Entry to the park is free to all.

'Salon de Thé du Jardin des Roses' is open every day, except Tuesday, from mid-April to mid-October from 11am to 5pm (closed 24, 25, 31 December and 1 January).
