Château de Breteuil

Allée du Château - 78460 Choisel 78 - Yvelines
COVID19: reopening of the Château de Breteuil on May 15, 2020.
35 km south of Paris in the Chevreuse valley, between Versailles and Rambouillet, the Château de Breteuil takes you on a magical journey through the realm of history and imagination. There are daily guided tours around the magnificently furnished chateau, home to the Marquis de Breteuil for four centuries, with 50 wax characters from the Musée Grévin. Think Marie-Antoinette, Louis XVI and Marcel Proust. In the outbuildings, seven famous Perrault tales have also been reconstructed. Look out for mischievous Puss in Boots, reckless Little Red Riding Hood, sweet Cinderella, beautiful Donkeyskin, Hop-o’-My-Thumb and his brothers, and the terrible Bluebeard. Events such as Easter egg hunts, shows, workshops and exhibitions are organized throughout the year. On Sundays, public holidays and during the school holidays, there is storytelling for families at 4.30pm. A magical place!
