CASTLE

Château d'Auvers

Chemin des Berthelées - 95430 Auvers-sur-Oise
Less than 30 minutes north of Paris, in the village of Auvers-sur-Oise, the Chateau d'Auvers is a unique place combining a heritage, Impressionist and educational experience in a preserved landscape. It offers an immersive and contemporary cultural visit 'Impressionist vision' that invites the visitor into the history of Impressionist painting, from its inspirations to its influences on artists such as Vincent Van Gogh or Paul Cezanne.
To alternate the real with the virtual, the Château d’Auvers shows a selection of works from the second half of the 19th century from the ‘Collection Départementale du Val d’Oise’: 18 paintings and 15 prints by artists such as Charles François Daubigny, Camille Pissarro, Ludovic Piette, Louis Hayet and Norbert Gœneutte. The chateau is set within a 9-hectare estate made up of parkland and gardens. All year round, the Château d’Auvers has a programme of activities, art workshops and cultural events (temporary exhibitions, concerts, shows).
