Official opening announced for March 2027!

Ahead of this highly anticipated opening, the Centre Pompidou Francilien is making waves in Massy by opening its doors to the public this fall! With the free event “Prélude!”, curious visitors are invited to explore this massive new cultural hub over three special weekends (October 17–18, 24–25, and the weekend of October 31–November 1, 2026). This is a unique opportunity to wander through 9,000 m² of space to discover the venue’s raw architecture and get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the future storage areas. Highlights of this early opening include encounters with iconic works from the Centre Pompidou’s collection, punctuated by live performances, hands-on workshops, and quick tours. This is the first major cultural event south of Paris—one you won’t want to miss.

Practical information:

  • Dates: October 17–18, October 24–25, and October 31–November 1, 2026
  • Admission: free event
  • Access: by reservation only (tickets go on sale in September 2026)
An architectural manifesto - wooden walkways and a panoramic belvedere evoking the famous "chenille" of the Parisian Pompidou Center - designed by PCA-STREAM, the Centre Pompidou Francilien stands opposite the Parc de la Blanchette like a hyphen between city and nature. This major project for Greater Paris not only houses the national reserves, but also transforms the management of collections into a living, accessible spectacle. For the first time, visitors can cross the threshold of the Centre Pompidou's reserves on guided tours to discover the hidden life of masterpieces: from their arrival in the collection to their scientific study and restoration. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase rare skills - framers, packers, restorers - essential to safeguarding our heritage. The site also offers 3,000 m² of cultural spaces and accessible terraces, a modular stage dedicated to new acquisitions and dialogues between contemporary artists. The program promises to be multi-disciplinary: performances, meetings, shows and workshops for young audiences will punctuate the life of the Centre Pompidou Francilien.
