Base nautique de la Villette

Did you know that it was possible to learn and practise rowing or canoe-kayaking in Paris without having to navigate around Bateaux Mouches and barges? Just go to the Base Nautique de La Villette, which offers many types of water sports. It’s open to all, children as well as adults. You just need to prove that you can swim by presenting a swimming certificate. Great news for fans of this type of sport, who often have to travel a long way to carry out their favourite hobby. For adults: free beginner's courses in sailing and basic water sports disciplines, Saturday 9am-12 midday and 2pm-5pm (except in bad weather conditions). 45 minute slots.
For 12-17 year olds: every Wednesday during the school year from 9am to 12 midday and 2pm to 5pm. During school holidays, the water sports centre is open at the same times Monday to Friday for Centres d'Initiation Sportive or for a week-long course 9.30am-5pm with the Ecole Municipale des Sports.
