Académie équestre du Domaine de Versailles - Direction Bartabas

Bartabas, talented horseman and founder of the Théâtre Equestre Zingaro d’Aubervilliers, long dreamed of passing on his knowledge and expertise through the establishment of a course of advanced training in the art of equestrian performance. This finally became reality in 2003! The first Academy of Equestrian Arts, managed by Bartabas himself, opened in the prestigious setting of the Grande Écurie of the Palace of Versailles, returning these magnificent buildings, built by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, to their original purpose. This school is intended for top level horsemen and women whom it trains daily in the time-honoured techniques of dressage whilst at the same time familiarizing them with art disciplines such as music, dance and song … all in perpetual movement. Bartabas shares this creative aspect with the public. Visitors can come and admire the prowess of some 30 horses including Lusitanos, Argentine Criollos, thoroughbred Arabs and Sorraias during the equestrian show ‘La Voie de l’écuyère’. The public are invited to visit the stables at the end of the show.

Opening times and prices

'La voie de l'écuyère' show: €16 to €28 per person. The ticket includes a visit of the Grande Écurie.
