Spread over the 23,000 m² of the Paris wing of the Palais de Chaillot, the Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine was inaugurated in 2007 as a place of reference for architecture, urban planning and landscape. The Cité promotes these disciplines to the general public, and conducts in-depth research in collaboration with specialists and professionals.
A place for exhibitions, teaching and reflection, the Cité de l'architecture is a living cultural institution: at once the repository of an exceptional heritage (the museum's collections cover 1,000 years of French architectural history) and forward-looking, bearing witness to changes in architecture and territories.
The Cité de l'architecture & du patrimoine offers a wide variety of spaces within a single complex: permanent and temporary exhibition galleries, reception lounges, reception and circulation halls, meeting rooms and a library.
All of these spaces can accommodate a variety of event formats: cocktails, dinners, product launches, fashion shows, conferences...
The terrace of the Salon d'About offers one of the finest views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
The parvis des droits de l'homme and its terraces are also managed by the Cité, and can also be used for film shoots.
