Theatre, circus, cabaret … a quick tour of some of Paris’s unmissable shows this summer!

During the summer, shows continue to entertain Parisians, and there is something for everyone: theatre, concerts, sound and light shows, circus and cabaret. What could be better than spending an evening soaking up Paris’s cultural and artistic fare? And for international audiences, there are several one-man shows, musicals, and plays that are accessible to all.

Looking to encounter some French charm? Montand the French Lover and I Love Piaf are affordable musicals to see. Feel like a bit of humour? Oliver Girault and Julie Collas from How to Become a Parisian in One Hour and Oh My God She’s Parisian, respectively, share some Parisian quirks and clichés: laughs are guaranteed. Finally, every year the Palace of Versailles puts on their breathtaking Musical Fountains and Fountains Night Shows.

I Love Piaf

The musical show I Love Piaf looks back at ‘La Môme’s’ career from Belleville to New York, and from Montmartre to Moscow. The programming comprises Edith Piaf’s greatest songs, either with an accordion accompaniment, or reworked on electric guitar.

Les Grandes Eaux de Versailles

Whether you choose the musical ones or the night-time ones, the Fountains Shows at Versailles are always a must-see event. From the start of spring, ornamental ponds, waterfalls, and fountains in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles create a magical ballet. An unforgettable sight.

La nuit aux Invalides

During the summer, the Hôtel des Invalides becomes the theatre for a stunning sound and light show themed around the First World War: 1918, the Rise of a New World. And to extend your enjoyment, the Eglise du Dôme is putting on a night-time trail lit by 1,000 candles after the show, giving you the chance to see the tomb of Napoleon I and other military figures in a new light.

Paris’s only one-woman show is presented by Julie Collas, who discusses the clichés of Parisian life with wit and humour. A show entirely in English, but with a charming French accent.

Un fil à la patte
