32 rue Blondel - 75002 Paris
Opéra - Grands Boulevards
Registered as a historical monument, the former brothel "Aux Belles Poules" is the only establishment whose decor has remained almost intact, unlike the other famous Parisian brothels, which have now disappeared. The magnificent mosaics, ceramics and erotic frescoes are the ultimate testimony to a bygone era and a true gem of Art Deco.
In 1948, two years after the law known as "Marthe Richard" which put an end to all "houses of tolerance", the place closed and was repurposed to continue another life ...
It was only in 2017 that Caroline Senot reopened the doors of the renovated building offering the public the chance to discover this architectural and historical gem.
During a guided tour, she will tell you about the extraordinary history of this place and the often unknown history of brothels and prostitution in Paris.
