The cultural legacy of the Paris 2024 Games

The 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have left a lasting imprint on Paris' cultural scene:

  • Bathing in the Seine: From 2025, three bathing sites will be open to the public, including Parc Rives de Seine, Bras de Grenelle and Bercy. This project, launched during the Olympic Games, offers a unique experience in the capital, with supervised bathing areas designed for the comfort and safety of swimmers.
  • Cultural Olympiad: Alongside the sporting competitions, a rich artistic program was deployed, mixing visual arts, live performances and participatory initiatives, strengthening the link between sport and culture.
  • New cultural venues: infrastructures such as the Arena Porte de la Chapelle were designed to host both sporting and cultural events, enriching the Parisian offer.
  • Enhancing our heritage: Emblematic sites such as the Grand Palais, the Château de Versailles and the Esplanade des Invalides have served as majestic backdrops for competitions, reinforcing their appeal and international visibility.

Post-Games cultural initiatives

Since the Games, several initiatives have been put in place to prolong the cultural momentum created by the event:

  • Enhanced accessibility : Cultural infrastructures have been modernized to be more inclusive, facilitating access for people with disabilities.
  • Extension of artistic installations: Certain works, initially temporary, were maintained due to their success, such as the Olympic cauldron installed at the Tuileries.
  • Neighborhood revitalization: Areas such as Seine-Saint-Denis now benefit from new cultural and sports facilities, contributing to their revitalization and the growth of a dynamic local arts scene.

Cultural events in full swing

The momentum of the Games has also led to the emergence of new must-see events in Paris:

  • Les Nuits Olympiques: an annual festival combining artistic performances and open-air sporting competitions.
  • Les Quais Créatifs: temporary installations and exhibitions on the banks of the Seine, making art accessible to the public all year round.
  • Paris Scène Ouverte: spaces dedicated to young talent have been created in several arrondissements, enabling a new generation of artists to express themselves.

Paris thus continues to shine as a capital of art and culture, with an offering enriched by the momentum of the 2024 Olympics.
