Arriving in Paris by train:

Paris has 7 train stations, each serving a specific geographical area in France and/or abroad: Paris – Gare de Lyon, Paris – Gare du Nord, Paris – Est, Paris – Montparnasse, Paris – Saint-Lazare, Paris – Austerlitz, Paris – Bercy.

All train stations in Paris are linked to the metro network and have taxi ranks and car parks.

Arriving in Paris by plane:

From Paris – Charles-de-Gaulle:

  • Train RER B (€13, direct to Paris with connections to all metro lines).
  • Taxi (single fare €56 to Paris rive droite (north of the Seine) and €65 to Paris rive gauche (south of the Seine)).

From Paris – Orly:

  • Metro line 14 (€13 direct to Paris with connections to all metro lines).
  • Taxi (single fare €45 to Paris rive droite (north of the Seine) and €36 to Paris rive gauche (south of the Seine)).

Getting around by taxi in Paris:

  • All the ‘taxis parisiens’ have an illuminated sign on their roof and a meter showing the cost of the journey. Taxis with a green illuminated sign are available and can be hailed on the street.
  • The only authorized supplements are €5.50 per passenger for 5 or more passengers and €4 for immediate bookings or €7 for advance bookings. There is no supplement for luggage.
  • Payment by credit card is possible in all taxis, with no minimum amount.
