Created in 2016 by Viparis and Paris je t'aime – Tourist Office, the Paris Leaders Club is a network of leading French scientists and researchers involved in the organization of international congresses. In the fields of healthcare and research, these leading experts – professors, clinicians and researchers – play a crucial role in championing bids in their respective disciplines in Paris and vouching for their scientific credibility to international bodies.
Paris has one of the densest scientific ecosystems in the world: major university hospitals, renowned international research institutes, bioclusters and health innovation campuses.
Thanks to their energy, expertise and professional networks, and their status as leading global experts in their fields, French scientists and academics bring all the necessary legitimacy to bids to host international congresses. They are considered as true ambassadors of the city.
Every year, a ceremony is organized to celebrate the successful bids of the Club. The prestigious ‘Tour Eiffel d'or’ award marks the city’s recognition of the contribution of these French scientists in the holding of these European or international congresses, within their field, in Paris. Recent successes in the health sector include: the ISTH congress on thrombosis (July 2026), the ESHRE congress on human reproduction (June 2025), and the EACS conference on HIV (October 2025).
Members of the Paris Leaders Club are fully supported throughout the bidding process: practical advice and assistance with bid submission (marketing support, design, access to venues and suppliers), direct contact with the mayor and government bodies (letters of support), and opportunities to network with other members of the Club.
For planners of MICE events in the health and research sector, the Paris Leaders Club is a prime gateway to the Parisian scientific community – and a mark of excellence for any ambitious international conference.
