Delve into contemporary psychoanalytic thinking: ‘The question of femininity today’ examines what unites and distinguishes the sexes.
On 22 November 2025, the Network for Psychoanalysis in Hospitals (RPH) is organising its 49th conference, entitled ‘The Question of Femininity Today’, in Paris (2nd arrondissement) and via videoconference. This conference invites us to rethink femininity not as a biological category, but as a subjective position common to both sexes. It draws on the Freudian and Lacanian tradition and examines recent societal transformations—sexual scandals, freedom of speech, gender/sex dissociation, new forms of procreation—to understand the issues at stake in the context of updated psychoanalysis.
