Musée Zadkine

100 bis rue d'Assas - 75006 Paris Musée d'Orsay - Saint-Germain-des-Prés
Close to the Luxembourg Gardens, the Musée Zadkine, nestled in the greenery of its sculpture-filled garden, houses the house and studios where Ossip Zadkine (1890-1967), the Russian-born sculptor and leading figure of the École de Paris, lived and worked from 1928 to 1967. The museum presents a selection of works representative of the sculptor's rich artistic evolution. From the "primitivism" of early sculptures carved with sensitivity from wood or stone, to the rigorous geometry of cubism, the fluid lines of a revisited neoclassicism, to the lyricism of his later years, Zadkine's work bears witness to an inexhaustible freedom and vitality.
