Create, exhibit, transmit: le19M has three missions. This building between Paris and Aubervilliers, designed by Rudy Ricciotti, is dedicated to the preservation and transmission of the Métiers d'art de la mode et de la décoration.
A veritable cultural hub dedicated to know-how, initiated by CHANEL, it brings together eleven Maisons d'arts, their teams and archives (Goossens; Lemarié et Lognon; Lesage, l'École Lesage and Lesage Intérieurs; Maison Michel; Massaro; Montex and Studio MTX; Paloma) as well as ERES, representing some 675 craftsmen and experts.
le19M is also home to the Galerie du 19M, a free 1,200 m2 cultural space open to the public since January 2022, focusing on the values of art and craftsmanship. Through exhibitions, workshops and conferences, its multi-disciplinary programming is designed with a community of players in mind. It resonates with the keen interest of the younger generation and the general public in the crafts of the hand, and outlines a social project in the service of the collective.
The Galerie is divided into several spaces:
The 350 m2 Agora overlooking skanderbeg square includes a café area.
On the mezzanine floor, a fully-equipped, soundproofed studio is ideal for business meetings, team-building and professional breakfasts....
At the rear of the building is the Gallery, a large volume of 550 m2 and 7.50 meters high. It can be used for large-scale exhibitions, conferences and evening events...
A terrace adjoining the Galerie, set in the heart of a 2,600 m2 interior garden, ideal for summer cocktails.
Its hybrid infrastructure is totally adaptable to changing needs. The lighting system is retractable, and seats and tables can be arranged as a block or spread out over the entire space. In keeping with the project's vocation, the interior design incorporates the manual skills of craftsmen and artisans, as well as the skills of local players, in a virtuous practice of companionship and upcycling of materials.
