Located in the heart of Paris, in the Les Halles neighbourhood, between the Pompidou Centre and the Louvre museum, the Bourse de Commerce – Pinault Collection will open to the public in spring 2021. This iconic site is situated at the epicentre of the capital’s most intense and active cultural neighbourhood.
This new museum invites the public to share the collector’s passion, and discover the works he has gathered over more than 40 years. The Bourse de Commerce will provide a panorama of the art from the 1960’s to date, through a rich and varied programme of exhibitions and events.
The historical Bourse de Commerce building that has been preserved, restored and revitalised by the famous architect Tadao Ando, consists of large volumes and unique spaces that combine heritage and modernity. The high quality and diversity of the spaces, in terms of their capacity, height and character, are perfectly suited to the organisation of all kinds of private events: cocktails, dinner, talks, screenings or meetings.
At the heart of this exceptional building, the subtle dialogue between the monumental and the intimate, between history and contemporary creation, the past and the present, invite us to discover the works on display: sculptures, paintings, photographs, installations and videos.
A strong symbol of Paris’ history, the Bourse de Commerce is also a unique opportunity to stroll through the centuries: a monumental 16th century column, a spectacular double revolution staircase, a memory of the city’s 18th century granary, the first metal cupola in the history of architecture, a feat accomplished by early 19th century engineers, and a vast, 1400m2 painted panorama, illustrating the 5 continents.
