Over the course of this visit you will discover the numerous iconic sites in Bruges: the famous Belfry, the Market Square, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and the Beguinage. An hour-long boat trip will enable you to appreciate the city from the many canals that criss-cross and encircle it. In winter, this trip is replaced by a visit to the Gothic Hall in the Hôtel de Ville.
Take advantage of your free time and visit one of the museums of early Flemish art: a 15th-century movement that was dominated by artists such as Jan van Eyck, Hans Memling, and Rogier van der Weyden, among others. If you are more in search of local specialities, wander along the narrow streets and visit one of the many chocolatiers or lace shops.
