A new look at sports that began in the streets, in the run-up to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This winter, visit a brand-new multi-purpose venue near the Eiffel Tower, celebrating Olympic disciplines and urban cultures.
The exhibition ‘SPOT24 – the Olympic Exhibition, sport and urban cultures’, throws a spotlight on six new Olympic disciplines that will be represented at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Although BMX freestyle, skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing and 3x3 basketball were already present in 2020 in Tokyo, breaking has been added to the list for 2024.
Designed by François Gautret, curator of the ‘Hip-Hop 360’ exhibition at the Philharmonie de Paris, ‘SPOT24, the Olympic Exhibition, sport and urban cultures’ focuses on these new sports, as well as their links with urban cultures.
The secrets of these new disciplines will be revealed through a variety of works and archives from the collection of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, as well as original creations. Throughout the exhibition, there will be a full programme of cultural activities for a wide public: entertainment, competitions, introductory sports sessions … as well as a competition featuring world-renowned artists and athletes!
