What to expect

This winter, discover one of the most famous queens of France with the Centre des Monuments Nationaux at 4 places in Paris and the Paris region: the Château de Rambouillet, the Conciergerie, the Chapelle Expiatoire and the Basilique Saint Denis.

An opportunity to visit the Château de Rambouillet, home for a time to Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette, and admire the 150 hectares of historic gardens and the Queen's Dairy. Marie-Antoinette was fond of bucolic settings and the Dairy was an important place for her, where she loved tasting her favourite dairy products.

Then head to the Conciergerie in the historic heart of Paris. Once a royal residence, it became one of Paris’s most famous prisons. It was to be the last place Marie Antoinette lived in and the place of her famous trial. Next stop, the Expiatory Chapel, near the St-Lazare train station, erected at the very place where Marie-Antoinette and Louis XIX were buried during the French Revolution.

End your visit with the Basilica of Saint Denis, a magnificent Gothic monument and necropolis of the Kings and Queens of France. It is here that the royal couple and their son Louis XVII are now buried.

Please note

Free for under 18s, and EU nationals aged 18-25.

This pass is valid for three months from the first visit of one of the four monuments.

As part of the Vigipirate plan, we thank you in advance for your understanding for any slowness caused by security controls at the entrance to the museum. As a result, priority access cannot be guaranteed in the event of high numbers of visitors
