An exhibition that highlights the activity of women artists within the Surrealist art movement

The Musée de Montmartre offers an insight into the place of women artists in Surrealism, through the exhibition 'Surréalisme au féminin' ('Women and Surrealism'), from 31 March to 10 September 2023. Many of these women were strong and determined leaders of this revolutionary 20th century artistic movement. The exhibition reveals the works of some fifty famous or lesser-known women artists, photographers and poets. Visitors can discover the creativity of figures such as Dora Maar, Claude Cahun, Merett Oppenheim, Toyen and Lee Miller, alongside inspiring paintings by Suzanne Van Damme ("Couple d’oiseaux anthropomorphes"), Marion Adnams ("Emperor Moths / Thunder"), and Jane Graverol ("Le Sacre du Printemps").
