The tragic fate of the biblical character Samson on stage at the Opéra Comique.
From 17 to 23 March, the Opéra Comique presents ‘Samson’, a creation by musical director Raphaël Pichon and stage director Claus Guth, presented at the last Aix-en-Provence Festival. The show, inspired by Jean-Philippe Rameau's 1734 opera project based on a censored libretto by Voltaire, recounts the tragic fate of Samson, a biblical character with destructive impulses, adapted for our own times. With baritone Jarrett Ott as Samson and the Pygmalion Chorus and Orchestra.
Performance in French, surtitled in French and English.
