The play plunges the audience into Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, which has been turned upside down by the changes in the modern world and is facing the end of an era for its aristocracy. Lyubov returns to her homeland after 5 years in exile. Impoverished and saddled with debt, she is forced to sell the family home and cherry orchard. Lopakhine, a former muzhik who has become a merchant, offers to save the estate by destroying the Cherry Orchard to build summer residences. Possibility of translating the show into English using connected glasses (must be booked in advance).
