A new show by choreographer Bianca Li inspired by the opera Dido and Aeneas.
Choreographer Bianca Li's new ballet is inspired by Henry Purcell's famous baroque opera Dido and Aeneas, first performed in London in 1689. Set against a fascinating visual backdrop of chiaroscuro, the show tells the story of the impossible and passionate love affair between the Queen of Carthage Dido and the Prince of Troy Aeneas. Presented in the Chapiteaux de la Villette in Paris, the show is performed by ten dancers and supported by music recorded by the baroque ensemble Les Arts Florissants. To be seen from 17 to 31 October 2024.
