Until 15 July 2025, the Comédie-Française is presenting the new show ‘A Seagull’, based on one of Anton Chekhov's most famous plays. It is directed and adapted by Elsa Granat. The associate artist of the Théâtre Gérard Philippe, the national drama centre in Saint-Denis, is taking this classic work back to the present day, drawing inspiration from the actors of the Comédie-Française troupe to bring to life the characters in the Russian playwright's work, torn between their desire for love and their desire for success in the theatre. Possibility of translating the show into English using connected glasses (must be booked in advance).
