Press pastiches

Bibliothèque Nationale de France - Site François Mitterrand, Quai François Mauriac - 75706 Paris
From April 4, 2023 to October 29, 2023

Until November, the BnF looks at the press as parodied and distorted in a humorous way

Alongside the traditional press, there are pastiches, fake newspapers that are almost as real as the originals, created to make people laugh and challenge our perception of the news.
The ‘Pastiches de presse’ exhibition, which runs until 29 October 2023, brings together no fewer than 250 reproductions with their fake covers and implausible information on the BnF's François Mitterrand site. The exhibition highlights the conventions of this genre, which originated two centuries ago, as well as present day forms of pastiche now in vogue on the web and social networks.
