Claude Debussy's operatic masterpiece enters the Paris Opera repertoire once again.
From 28 February to 27 March 2025, the Opéra Bastille will be hosting Claude Debussy's opera ‘Pelléas et Mélisande’, based on the play by Maurice Maeterlinck. This lyrical drama sets to music the forbidden love between Mélisande, the young wife of the jealous and violent Golaud, and Pelleas, her husband's half-brother. The set design for this new production, which enters the Opéra National de Paris repertoire, has been entrusted to director Wajdi Mouawad.
