A retrospective reveals the career of the artist Nadia Léger, wife of the famous modern painter Fernand Léger.
The Musée Maillol in Paris is hosting a retrospective dedicated to the artist Nadia Léger (1904-1982), wife of the famous French painter Fernand Léger. Entitled Nadia Léger. A Woman of the Avant-Garde, the exhibition retraces the career of this little-known artist through a selection of over 150 works. Born in Russia, Nadia Léger was a painter influenced by the avant-garde, a magazine publisher, a collaborator with her husband and a committed member of the Resistance. The exhibition reveals her career and her various influences, from Cubism to Suprematism and Realism, with works by Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso, Nicolas de Staël and Hans Hartung in dialogue with those of Nadia Léger. The retrospective runs from 8 November 2024 to 23 March 2025.
