Military and sports: a match made in heaven! Cultural Olympiad

An exhibition on the links between sport and the military at the Musée de l'Armée in Paris

The Musée de l'Armée, located in the Invalides in Paris, is presenting the exhibition "Militaires et sportifs: ça match!" from 14 July 2024. Offered as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the exhibition highlights the relationship between the army and sport, through the museum's collections and loans from champions. It focuses in particular on the Joinville National Military Gymnastics School, founded in 1852 and a symbol of military excellence in sport. Visitors will also discover the different functions of sport within the army, from physical training to the reconstruction of the wounded and the promotion of high-level performance.
