An exhibition on the story of the extraordinary friendship of Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso at the Musée du Luxembourg

The Musée du Luxembourg presents the exhibition Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso. The Invention of Language to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of the famous Spanish painter. It highlights the work of the American poet and writer Gertrude Stein, who moved to Paris in 1903, and her friendship with the sculptor Pablo Picasso, who was living in Paris at the same period. In the course of the exhibition, visitors travel through a century of art including major artists such as Henri Matisse, John Cage, Marcel Duchamp, Bob Wilson, and Andy Warhol. Twenty-six works on loan from the Musée Picasso, archive documents, and portraits and photographs of Gertrude Stein have been brought together for the occasion.
From 10.30 am to 7pm. From 10.30am to 10pm on Mondays except 2 October.
