A new trompe-l'œil exhibition at the Musée Marmottan Monet.
The Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris is bringing trompe-l'œil back into the spotlight with an exhibition on this little-talked-about category of artistic representation of reality. It explores the different forms taken by this art form over the centuries, from the 16th to the 21st century. Along the way, visitors discover over 80 works from private and public collections in Europe and the United States, including those of the Musée Marmottan Monet. Various themes are explored, including vanitas, hunting trophies and grisaille. On view from October 17, 2024 to March 2, 2025.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm. Nocturne Thursday until 9pm
