The MET at the Louvre. Near Eastern antiquities in dialogue

A ‘dialogue’ between 10 major works from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the collections of the Louvre’s department of near Eastern antiquities.

Until 28 September 2025, the Louvre is hosting 10 exceptional ancient works from New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art (the MET) in its department of near Eastern antiquities. The juxtaposition of the Louvre’s eastern antiquities and those of the MET offers a fresh perspective on the collections of the two famous museums and the history of the works. An opportunity to view ancient Eastern art, from Mesopotamia via Syria and Iran to Central Asia, in a new light.
