From October 17, 2024 to February 24, 2025
A must-see exhibition on Pop Art, focusing on the artist Tom Wesselmann.
The Fondation Louis Vuitton is devoting a major exhibition to Tom Wesselmann, a major Pop Art artist alongside Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Initiated in the 1960s, Pop Art developed in North America and Europe, taking as its subjects objects and icons from popular culture. The exhibition focuses on the work of Tom Wesselmann, revealing his still lifes in relief in an original format, his landscapes verging on abstraction, his famous Sunset Nudes and his early collages. Nearly 150 paintings and works are presented, bringing Tom Wesselmann's world into dialogue with that of 35 artists of different nationalities and periods, all of whom have a Pop sensibility, from Marcel Duchamp to Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons and Ai Weiwei.
