Perfume bottles, bonbonnières, snuffboxes... a selection of precious miniature objects from the Age of Enlightenment to discover at Musée Cognacq Jay.
Perfume bottles, bonbonnières, snuffboxes, sewing kits adorned with gold, precious stones, mother-of-pearl or enamel... In the Age of Enlightenment, small precious objects were all the rage in France, and later in Europe. The Musée Cognacq Jay's Luxe de poche exhibition highlights these miniature, luxurious objects from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The exhibition features objects from the museum's own collection, as well as loans from the Louvre, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Château de Versailles, the Palais Galliera, the English Royal Collections and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. On view until November 24, 2024.
